Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal information

Effective Date: February 1, 2026

20 Degrees Frozen Yogurt Lounge ("we," "us," or "our") operates the 20 Degrees Froyo application and website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We believe in being straightforward about our data practices, so we have written this policy in plain language.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When an employee account is created, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. Accounts are set up by store management for scheduling and operational purposes. You sign in with your email and password.

Camera and Photo Library

If you grant permission, the app may access your device camera to take profile photos or capture images of expense receipts. You may also select images from your photo library. Camera and photo library access is only used when you actively choose to take or select a photo within the app.

Location Data

With your permission, we may collect your general location to show nearby store information. We do not track your location in the background or maintain a history of your movements.

Calendar Access

If you choose to add work shifts to your personal calendar, the app will request access to your device calendar. This is entirely optional, and the app only writes shift events you choose to add -- it does not read or store your existing calendar entries.

Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications about schedule updates, shift reminders, and other work-related communications. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Device Information

We collect basic device information (such as device type, operating system version, and app version) to ensure the app functions properly and to troubleshoot issues.

Analytics and Error Tracking

We may use PostHog for analytics and Sentry for error tracking. These services help us understand how the app is used and identify technical problems. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and is not used to build individual user profiles for advertising purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Authenticating your identity and managing your employee account
  • Managing work schedules, shift assignments, and related notifications
  • Processing and storing expense receipts submitted through the app
  • Displaying relevant store location information
  • Improving app performance, fixing bugs, and developing new features
  • Communicating important operational updates to employees

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not use your data for third-party advertising. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate the app, including cloud hosting, push notification delivery (Firebase), analytics (PostHog), and error tracking (Sentry). These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their services.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government regulation.
  • Business transfers: If our business is sold or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify you of any such change.

Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to personal data within the app is restricted based on user roles -- employees can only see their own information, while managers and owners have access appropriate to their responsibilities.

While we work hard to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data, subject to any legal or operational requirements to retain certain records.
  • Permissions: You can revoke camera, location, calendar, or notification permissions at any time through your device settings.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email address listed below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's Privacy

The 20 Degrees Froyo app is designed for use by employees and management of 20 Degrees Frozen Yogurt Lounge. It is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes that affect how we handle your personal information, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
